On December 6th a heavy fall of 6" of snow arrived and this, coupled with the existing snow on the ground gave the city its heaviest recorded level snow depth at 9am on the 7th of 20cm. People will remember deep snow from other years such as 1982 and 1987, when there was considerable drifting.
