With a mean annual temperature of 10.6°, 2024 was 0.6° cooler than the record breaking warm year of 2023 but nevertheless it was the 7th warmest year on record.The 5 year moving average is still as high as ever before. 

The table below shows the warming trend broken down month by month. So far this century all months have been warmer than 20th century figures

Compared with the 19th century monthly means, October is now almost 2° C warmer.
